2023年、5月27日（アメリカは5/26）。私のFacebookのフィードにはフアン・カルロス・フォルメルさんがニューヨークのステージで突然倒れて亡くなったという投稿が次から次へと上がってきました。私は彼を直接知りませんが、私の友人の多くが彼の友達でした。その翌日、長年の友達の美子ちゃんが亡くなったと連絡がありました。彼らの突然の死は自分が今「生きている事」が全く持って「当たり前」な事ではないのかもしれないと、気付きました。追悼の意を込めて団扇を作りました。
空から見えるように「団扇の花火」を一緒に打ち上げてね。

May 27th, 2023 (in NY, May 26th). My Facebook feed was flooded with posts about the death of Juan-Carlos Formell, who suddenly collapsed on stage in New York. I don’t know him in person, but many of my friends are his friends. The next day, I was informed that my longtime friend Yoshiko had passed away. Their sudden death made me realize that it might not be the “usual thing” that “I am living” at all.I made a fan to commemorate him. Hice un abanico para conmemorarlo.

27 de mayo de 2023(en Nueva York, 26 de mayo). Mi feed de Facebook se inundó de publicaciones sobre la muerte de Juan-Carlos Formell, quien colapsó repentinamente en el escenario de Nueva York. No lo conozco en persona, pero muchos de mis amigos son sus amigos.Al día siguiente, me informaron que mi viejo amigo Yoshiko había fallecido. Su muerte repentina me hizo darme cuenta de que podría no ser la “cosa habitual” de que “estoy viviendo” en absoluto.
